Hard to be Hip-hoppin’

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/23/fashion/23slang.html?hpw

Kids these days.  It’s so hard to stay cool.  This is why I just don’t attempt to.  I’ll stick with calling people old timey names like Floozy, Broad, and of course Toots (shout out to you, roomie!)  I’m not that sorry if the internet robs me of my “sociolinguistic exclusionary power” – call me old school, but I can exclude and judge on my own thankyouverymuch.  I would NOT, however, be all that mad if my grandmother started talking like Lil’Wayne.  She cool.

  1. It is hard to stay cool, which is why I’m so tired all the time…

    I still hate “toots”
